The Starlink for Business Guide
What makes a Starlink connection a business connection
Starlink uses a network of low Earth orbit satellites to deliver internet directly to a terminal, without depending on cable, fiber, or a phone line reaching the site. Business plans add one important difference over residential service: priority data.
Business plans receive priority data — more consistent speed and bandwidth than a residential connection during peak congestion.
In practice, that means typical download speeds of 100–350 Mbps and uploads of 15–50 Mbps, with latency around 20–40 ms — low enough for video conferencing, VoIP, and cloud applications. Available on all continents, including remote, offshore, and mobile operations.
Choosing hardware
Constant Sky offers two kits, and the right one depends on where and how the terminal will live:
- Standard Dish Kit. SpaceX's standard business-grade terminal — a cost-effective way to get a location online, or to add a redundant backup connection to a site you already run.
- Flat High Performance Kit. Built for mobility and demanding environments — a wider field of view and stronger GPS keep the connection consistent, in hardware designed for permanent installation in extreme conditions.
Both kits are weather-resistant and built to run outdoors year-round. Equipment can be purchased outright or financed across your service term — see Hardware for a full comparison.
Installation and getting online
Most kits are designed for a straightforward self-install: mount the terminal with a clear view of the sky, connect power and the router, and the system handles the rest. Installation support is available depending on your kit and site if you’d rather have it handled for you.
Multiple terminals can be centrally managed and billed across locations.
